As facility security risks continue to evolve, FSR 2026 introduces clearer, more measurable, and more audit-ready requirements to help organizations strengthen implementation and prepare for the next phase of certification.

Organizations currently certified or preparing for certification should begin planning early to avoid certification gaps.

  • September 30, 2026: Final date to complete audits under Version 2023
  • September 2026 (TBA): Training under Version 2026 scheduled to commence
  • October 1, 2026: Audits under Version 2026 begin
